Bradford Dragons 87-55 Magic Seniors

Magic seniors moved to 0-2 in the NBL Division One Men after a loss on the road to Bradford Dragons on Saturday evening.

Magic were led by Saul May (10 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists), with support from Daniel Pilkington (10 points, 3 rebounds and an assist), Josh Houghton (8 points, a rebound and an assist), Jonathan Barnes (5 points, 8 rebounds and a block), Loick Pouale (5 points and 4 rebounds), Kayin Darbey (5 points, 4 rebound and a steal) and Richard Bell (5 points and 4 rebounds).

Magic Head Coach Aurimas Verbukas commented, "A tough one today, but that’s what you expect from Coach Mellor and his team. Bradford controlled the game from start to finish, while we were inconsistent. Coach Mellor is one of the best coaches in this league, so this win is well deserved for him and his team. 

"If I had to highlight the positives, I would like to point to our two 16 year olds, Saul May & Luke Gordos, who both played a very mature game as they contributed today."

Up next for the Magic Seniors is a home game in the National Cup Round 4 against Reading Rockets on Sunday 28th October at 5:00pm, where fans may notice fresh floor markings have been laid, so fresh in fact that the paint will only just be dry.

Mystics WBBL 94-53 Essex Rebels WBBL Cup

Mystics WBBL advance in the WBBL Cup, after the Mystics beat Essex Rebels at home on Saturday afternoon.

Mystics were led by Samantha Roscoe (22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 4 blocks), with ample support from Rheanne Bailey (21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals), Evelyn Ovner (16 points, 14 rebounds, an assists and a steal), Jorjah Smith (14 points, 4 rebounds, an assist and a steal), Georgia Jones (11 points, 4 rebounds, 17 assists, breaking last week's career high! and 3 steals) and Charlotte Stoddart (4 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block).

Up next for the Mystics WBBL is a home game in the WBBL Championship against Sevenoaks Suns on Saturday 27th October at 4:00pm, at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

The Mystics will face an away trip to Nottingham Wildcats in the WBBL Cup Quarter Finals.

Derby Trailblazers 23-114 Magic U16

Magic U16 moved to 3-0 in the Premier North after an emphatic victory on the road at Derby Trailblazers on Saturday.

Sheffield Hatters 67-57 Mystics U16

Mystics U16 moved to 3-1 in the Premier North after a loss on the road at Sheffield Hatters on Saturday.
