Nottingham Wildcats 69-53 Mystics WBBL - WBBL Trophy

Mystics WBBL opened their 2019-20 WBBL Trophy group campaign with a difficult loss against Nottingham Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at the University of Essex as part of the opening weekend event involving all WBBL teams.

Mystics were led by Sara Djassi who poured in 17 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, 3 steals and 2 blocks, with support from Georgia Jones 13 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal, Sam Roscoe 10 points, 13 rebounds, an assist and 3 steals, Rheanne Bailey 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal, Dom Allen 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals and Rachel James 5 rebounds an assist and a steal.

QE York Knights 87-55 Trafford U18

Trafford U18 opened their Premier North campaign with a challenging loss on the road against QE York Knights on Saturday afternoon.

Up next for Trafford U18 is an away game at Durham Wildcats on Sunday 6th October.

Mystics WBBL 67-49 BA London Lions - WBBL Trophy

Mystics WBBL finished 1-1 in their 2019-20 WBBL Trophy group campaign after a convincing win against BA London Lions on Sunday afternoon at the University of Essex in their second game of the opening weekend event involving all WBBL teams.

Mystics were led by Sam Roscoe who had a busy 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block, with support from Rheanne Bailey 17 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and a steal, Georgia Jones 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals, Rachel James 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, Dom Allen 5 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, a steal and 2 blocks, Jade Mbam 4 points, a rebound and an assist, Sara Djassi 3 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, Holly Bryan a rebound and an steal.

Norwegian, Tiril Hjelde, joins the Mystics from Sandvika Baerum Basket Bekkestua of the Norwegian League, was on the bench for this game but did not feature.

With Nottingham winning both their group games the Wildcats advance from Mystics' group to the Semi-Finals.

Up next for Mystics WBBL is a home game against Cardiff Met Archers on Saturday 12th October at 4:00pm at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

Leicester Warriors 87-83 Trafford U16

Trafford U16 dropped out of the National Cup at the first round stage after a narrow loss on the road against Leicester Warriors on Sunday afternoon.

Up next for Trafford U16 is an away game against City of Edinburgh on Saturday 5th October.
