Coronavirus: Club stance and advice from Basketball England

  Wednesday, March 11, 2020

The club continues to monitor the coronavirus threat on a daily basis but has no plans at present to cancel community sessions or postpone games.

Basketball England has issued the following guidance in a statement on its website:

"We are aware of the decisions being taken to cancel sporting events and/or hold them behind closed doors.

"The Department of Culture, Media and Sport has announced that, as things stand, there is, in general, 'no rationale' for closing or cancelling sporting events in Britain because of coronavirus.

"While it is a fast-changing picture and we will continue to be guided by the most up-to-date, expert advice, we are continuing to prepare for matches to proceed as scheduled."

The club will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post further updates as and when required.

Until then, all community sessions at the Manchester Basketball Centre will run as normal.
